52’ MoonEYEZ Truck

My '52 Dodge MoonEYEZ Acquired for a mere $350 from Ohio and imported to the U.K. when I was just fifteen, this Dodge became my first vehicle and a gateway to a world of hands-on learning. The truck evokes memories of countless weekends spent in my father's workshop. A heavy-duty mechanic, he immersed me in the world of big rigs and building hot rods . Those weekends weren't just about turning wrenches; they were a masterclass in problem-solving, from servicing engines and navigating the scrapyard to the art of customization. This '52 Dodge became my personal project, a canvas for my burgeoning creativity.

Inspired by the iconic "Moon" theme, I transformed the truck with a vibrant yellow paint job, masterfully applied by family friend Barry. My grandfather, a true craftsman, spun the aluminum Moon discs that complete the classic look. . Every step of the process, from sanding and body filling to priming, painting the underside, and sealing the varnished pickup bed, was a lesson learned. Spare parts were acquired through diligent saving of pocket money, birthday gifts, and Christmas presents – every occasion became an opportunity to fuel my passion.

Growing up in a hot rod family, this truck wasn't just transportation; it was the embodiment of a vibrant, hands-on upbringing, a cherished memory machine. As an artist, I believe in the power of transforming everyday objects into expressions of personal history and style, and this truck is a perfect example of that philosophy.
It's a rolling piece of art, a reflection of my creative journey.
