A Radiant Day at the LAVC Market: Sharing My Art and My Story
Yesterday, the LAVC market wasn't just a market; it was a celebration of community, creativity, and sunshine. And I was incredibly fortunate to be a part of it. The atmosphere was simply radiant, bathed in the perfect golden light that made everything feel alive and vibrant. It was the ideal backdrop for showcasing my art, and I found myself energized by the positive energy that filled the air.
For those who had the chance to stop by my booth, and for those who couldn't make it, I’d love to share a little bit about myself and my work. I'm Simon Cooksey, a local artist based right here in Tarzana. For years, I poured my creative energy into the world of car design, a career that was both challenging and rewarding. But deep down, my true passion has always been fine art.
Now, I'm thrilled to be fully dedicating myself to creating the art that truly speaks to my soul. My work is a blend of nostalgia, heritage, and pure artistic expression. You'll find meticulously hand-drawn sketches of classic vintage cars, each line capturing the timeless beauty of these automotive icons. These drawings are a testament to my love for design and the enduring appeal of classic vehicles.
And then there are my sketches of charming old English pubs, a heartfelt nod to my English roots. Each pub sketch is a glimpse into a world of cozy warmth, history, and character – the kind of places where stories are shared and memories are made. Alongside these detailed sketches, I also explore the world of abstract painting and prints, allowing me to express emotions and ideas in a more fluid and intuitive way.
The LAVC market was a wonderful opportunity to connect with fellow art lovers, share my story, and see the joy my art brings to others. Seeing people connect with my drawings of classic cars, or reminisce over the pub sketches, was truly heartwarming.
